EAQ's FIRST Online Introduction to Equine Assisted Learning

EAQ held the first Online Facilitator Training during May with very positive feedback from students. 100% said it exceeded their expectations and 100% would recommned the course to others. Following this feedback, we have decided to include the Introduction to Equine Assisted Learning as an online, two-hour session and are delighted to announce that the first of these will be held on Monday 1st June 2020 from 2-4pm.

The session is shorter than a normal Intro Day as we will not be spending time with the horses but will be covering the content via an online platform and WhatsApp video call. In order to join this session, you will need to have access to a computer to view the online content and a phone with the latest update of WhatsApp to access the video call with the other participants.

Taking part in this two-hour, online Introduction is the first stage in the process of joining the EAQ Online Facilitator Training.
By taking part in the session you will have an opportunity to:
  • Learn more about equine assisted learning
  • Find out about the Level 4 Certificate in Facilitating Equine Assisted Learning, the structure of the training and the fees
  • Analyse some video and listen to some different communication techniques
  • Assess your own skills against the unit Handling and Managing Horses in Equine Assisted Learning
  • Find out about EAQ and the support available for facilitators and centres.

We will talk with you about your skills and whether we think the training will be appropriate for you. We can help you to map out a relevant training programme to meet your aspirations.  The Introduction to Equine Assisted Learning has inspired many people to go on to the facilitator training and then run their own equine assisted learning centre.

Six Reasons to Attend
Here are six reasons given to us by people who attended a face-face Introduction Day.

I would like to make a career change and wanted to explore options around equine assisted learning.

I want to further my knowledge of how horses can empower/teach people such a variety of processes.

Curiosity – to see if Im able/want to combine my love and interest in counselling and horses.

To discover more and experience another course provider to see if its what I want to do and it is!

My employer would like me qualified to sell’ the equine assisted learning as a therapy to our user groups.

I need and fervently wished to do something that I love to do for the next stage of my life I felt that this could be it.

Testimonials
The following email came from a teacher at a special school who attended a face to face Intro Day.

“Thank you for a wonderful day. Tricia you are a true inspiration and I feel very honoured to have spent the day with you. I drove home deep in thought reflecting on the day and all that I had learnt and observed. I met with my Head Ruth today and told her all about the course. Ruth would like me to do the intensive course. I am totally overwhelmed at having been given this opportunity to learn and work with you. I look forward to seeing you again. Thanks again for a truly wonderful day.”

Here are a few comments from the heading ‘What have you found most useful about the course?’

Experiencing for myself interacting with horses in this way and feeling what it might be like to be the client/learner rather than just reading about it and watching videos on YouTube.
Good grounding about the qualifications. Ideas on how equine assisted learning could be applied and used with my current skills. Ideas on what is required for a centre.
I have really enjoyed today, thank you. It has given me plenty to think about with my own personal development and awareness and how I would like to continue professionally.
The ability to connect/be open with an animal without speaking.
Trisha! The way she has presented and delivered and the lovely horses.
Just everything!

The cost for the two-hour online session is £50.  There are only four places available so please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. early to book your place and avoid disappointment.
