Contact Victoria Coombs

PLAN, FACILITATE AND MANAGE BEHAVIOUR

The course is split into two blocks and blends face to face and online learning.
The face to face element will be 28-31 May in Tavistock, Devon with the online element on 10/11 and 17/18 June.

You must have taken part in an online Introduction session, Handling and Managing Horses and Communication and Safeguarding before registering for this course. You may take part in the course and choose not to be assessed for the Level 4 qualification.

The three units are:

  • Planning in Equine Assisted Learning
  • Facilitating EAL for Individuals and Groups
  • Managing Behaviour of Learners.

You will complete practice sessions for a minimum of 50 hours, planning and reviewing the learning. This gives you time to practise and embed the skills so that you become ‘unconsciously competent’.

Topics include:

  • how we can make the most of the opportunities presented by the horse’s natural behaviour in their environment
  • roles and responsibilities
  • risk assessments
  • different ways of planning sessions
  • working with individuals and groups
  • managing behaviour of learners of all ages.
Feedback from previous students

“I was amazed at how in-depth the Facilitator Training was and how much I learnt about teaching and learning. I have changed some of the ways that I work in school because of my experiences on the facilitator training.”
