Equine Assisted Team BuildingEquine Assisted Team Building for Teachers

EAQ - equine assisted learning to manage change in an organisation.Managing Change using Equine Assisted Learning

Developing skills with horses helps humans to develop skills with one another too!  Company directors, business owners, managers and team leaders can all benefit from working with horses using equine assisted learning.

This Company Director knows that there are lots of changes afoot in her own organisation.  By introducing something new to this horse she is able to think about ways of introduing changes to her workforce.

The horse (like her workforce) is suspicious of something new and wants to get away.  He would prefer to return to eating grass.  The handler is taking the horse out of his comfort zone and challenging him to become braver and more confident.  When he accepts the fabric on his back he will lower his head and lick and chew.  The fabric will form part of his comfort zone rather than being something to be feared.

In a company that is planning for change there will be staff who will try to force the company to work in it's old traditional way - they want to stay inside their comfort zone!  By thinking about the way in which changes are introduced, directors and managers can minimise the uncertainty for tiheir staff and encourage a positive progressiion into new working practices.

There are many other ways in which horses can help both small and large organisations including:

team building
decision making
problem solving
change management
personal development
