What is an EAQ Approved Centre?
An EAQ Approved Centre is one that has agreed to meet certain professional standards and has:

• an outdoor, herd-based approach to horse care
• undertaken training with EAQ
• at least one member of staff who has attained EAQ Certified Facilitator status
• trained first aider
• policies and procedures including safeguarding
• public liability insurance
• Disclosure and Barring Service checks for all staff and volunteers.

Why choose an EAQ Approved Centre?
When you choose to attend sessions at an EAQ Approved Centre you can be sure that the staff are well trained and that horses are looked after in a way that best meets their needs.
The centre staff and volunteers will have undergone a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and the centre will have a policy about safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. (DBS checks have replaced the old Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks).
There is on-going training available and a requirement for EAQ Certified Facilitators to undertake at least 50 hours per year of continuing professional development.
Each centre has the support of others in the EAQ Network so they are able to share ideas and keep up to date with best practice.
